One of the few things the Philippines is internationally recognized for are its child singers and as Charice Pempengco's small frame resonated awe-inspiring notes on Oprah, I was pretty proud. I even started singing myself and realized later that not because Charice is Filipino, every Filipino can sing. I'm a little racist at that, I guess.
Now that she's casted on Glee, I can't wait to finish the episode! I'm already on the start credits and I saw this:
Every other cast had their names spelled out, even if it covered Sue's face except Charice'. We need international recognition for our crazy last names too!

Screen Caps of Glee Season 1 Finale
Here are my screencaps of the Season 1 finale of Glee.
It wasn't a good way to end a good season. The whole episode was out of balance in emotions but the ending suggested a season 2.
I started getting attached to Glee since I finally figured out what type of person Rachel was. She boasts only the truth and she works for what she wants. I like her although she might have flexed her jaws too much that sometimes when she sings, it confuses me. Am I watching a Jaws installment or a musical? I bet she can chew her whole hand.
Too bad I had to watch Glee from an illegal source. Hulu and Fox streaming websites fear that our third world country will have the equipment to hack their websites. As far as I know, internet advancements in the Philippines are heavily limited by equipment (and definitely not by brains). My teacher even said the Philippine inter-networks are 'dirty'. He said that accessing local websites still require global cooperation when requests and access could easily be processed and transmitted locally. Just imagine sending a package from Iloilo to Guatamela and then to Manila!
I can't really rant about why the government doesn't care about our internet technology because I'm glad we are focusing on teaching the youth how to use computers, thus computer science subjects. You know what they say: "Aanhin mo nga naman ang damo, kung brain dead and kabayo mo." I'll rather teach a horse how to chew before buying tons of his food.

Elmo and Ely on Party Pilipinas
I was telling everybody I would read the whole day last Sunday. After a few hours I visited Facebook and heard textual screams of awe from the Elmo and Ely performance on Party Pilipinas! I hate that GMA 7 got Ely and Elmo's contracts. ABS-CBN could have been better.

Iron Man 2: The Dream Nerd
I heard from my cousins that Iron Man (without the two) was a good movie and it left you wanting for more. Its summer, its useless to reject a movie invitation so I tagged along to watch Iron Man 2. We were so lucky to grab a seat. Its the most populated SM Cinema has been since the last Harry Potter installment.
Iron Man 2 was a movie. I can't tell you if it was good or bad. The only standards it passed was being a movie. I can't even say if the 2 dollars was worth it. Just like any other movie which can't be described by any other word other than 'movie', I'll probably forget about its existence in a few days. If you are not happy about my review, go ahead and watch it yourself. Put a link to your own review in the comments box and let me read it.
Although, I have to note one thing that affected my reaction to the movie. I consider myself a science enthusiast and as I watch this sci-fi/hero movie, I can't help to compare the events and materials to reality. All of the computer technology and high capacity compounds that produce power for at least a century (given they are pocket-sized) were just to impossible for our time. The movie wasn't set in the future, it was set in the present where humans are fond of F1 Mach 1 cars which in the future, will be turtle-ish.
I consider myself a nerd. I love to learn science. Iron Man is like a scientist's/nerd's ego. Anthony Stark is a 40-ish man who knows a lot about Physics and Chemistry almost impossibly though, he is also a celebrity and an alpha man ladies try to grab on to. Isn't it obvious?

Agua Bendita Versus YouTube
Since Santino hit the small screen, ABS-CBN observed the extreme public hospitality to Catholic driven shows that stars children. Children who are divine and that possess extreme abilities that apparently only God can provide. When the Santino show ended (all good children hit the less adorable adulthood), Agua joined the scene.
Agua is a girl, later she becomes a teen, whose molecules are of holy water. She is glowing blue all the time which of course, alienates her. Outcast blue girl. It wasn't a good show because it was an obvious failed attempt to recreate the blockbuster that was Santino. A few days ago I saw this on Youtube. I print screened it to share.
Could it be? Agua is actually a rip-off of Avatar and not Santino. Please enlighten me!

CATS: Now and Forever
I am a giant fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber, the father or co-parent of Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and of course, the classic Cats, among other masterpieces (like Jesus Christ Superstar:-). After I heard that the producers of this broadway hit will be putting up a limited run performance headed by Lea Salonga as Grizabella in CCP, I craved for Google.
Here is the first song of the musical featuring the DVD cast.

If you don't want to watch it, please try to convince yourself that you want to watch it. The chance to watch Cats doesn't come everyday or even every decade here in the Philippines. Its only proper to take advantage of this amazing opportunity to know all the Jellicles. Its pretty obvious I worship this musical.

TV into Computer, says Smart.
Have you seen the commercial above lately? I haven't but what it is advertising seems to be a cool product but I can't see it being a giant hit because:
1. Smart sells this for 4,500 Pesos which is, for me, too expensive
2. You need a SmartBro PlugIt to use it and
3.If you already have a SmartBro PlugIt modem, it means you have a computer/laptop beforehand.
So why would anyone buy this SurfTV? I don't know but honestly, its really cool.

Simulation Games 2009: Oh, look, PNP is doing something
I just saw our police on TV. The people who were supposed to protect the commoners were rolling around the streets like bowling pens. They look funny when you don’t know what they were doing. They were like role-playing, the James Bond way. Actually, they were under training. Not for travelling large distances or chasing cars in pursuit by tumbling down a cement road but they were simulating a high-risk kidnap situation, midday and in the middle of the entertained public. How realistic.
Did you know, our PNP has their own website? Of course it can't protect you from criminals, etc. But who cares? Its the new government agency fad.
