One of the most important surveys held in the Philippines is the census while the surveys for candidate preference is the least helpful, as long as you consider my opinion.

What should this surveys be doing? Of course, to inform candidates about their approval rates.

Why is this important? Candidates seek approval and not political strength and willpower. That should have been obvious if you have read newspapers and watched television at least during the hot months (hot months=24 months before and 2 months after the election).

Is being a presidential survey top lister give you more votes? I'm afraid I believe so. Some people in the Philippines live to be boneless, swaying to every direction the wind or whatever blows. Popular opinions are the safest ones they say.

I also have a theory that those who conducted the survey was a patriot of Philippine media. Too scared of the ads that looked like they were taking over everything stimulating the senses that they agreed to say Villar had approval. So now Villar, the evident top player in terms of campaign materials, can tone down his commercials.
